Roseola

When Rhett woke up from his Sunday nap he felt warm and was absolutely not happy! The next few days he continued to have a fever and was definitely not feeling well. We sat together, snuggled and watched lots of cartoons. Although I didn't like my baby being sick I did secretly like all the cuddling. Rhett moves WAY too much to be a cuddler and I miss it. By Wednesday his fever broke and he seemed to be back to normal. However, Thursday he woke up with a rash. I was pretty sure it was Roseola but we went to the doctor to get confirmation. The good doctor confirmed and our prescription for health is to stay out of the sun and stay cool. Not so fun in the middle of summer with a pool in the backyard. Luckily it should only be a few days.

Boating

We went out on the boat for the first time this summer. It was a beautiful hot day and the water felt great. Unfortunately it was choppy so Randy didn't get in and try to wakeboard. In his former, uninjured life, Randy was a great wakeboarder and skiier. We are hoping now with his ankle fused he will be able to enjoy it once again but time will tell. I was finally able to wakeboard again after missing last summer due to pregnancy. I was a little rusty and definitely need some practice! It was Rhett's first time on the water and he did GREAT! He didn't fight us on the life jacket and loved to watch everything go on around him. His favorite spot was the drivers seat, hand on the throttle! It was a fun day and a good trial for Rhett. We are excited for more boating on our lake vacation later in the summer!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun filled Fourth of July weekend! We started off the weekend by having our nieces Emery and Fallon spend the night. We went in the jacuzzi, made chocolate shakes and watched a movie. Friday we had a big BBQ and swim party at The Moody's house (Randy's sister). Saturday was swimming and picnic with the Milford's (my sister) in the afternoon and then we headed to the high school. We camped out on the football field, ate, hung out and Rhett played with his cousins while we waited for the fireworks to start. We snuggled up and watched a great fireworks show! I love fireworks! Rhett loved them too! He was so tired he would turn and lay his head down on Randy's chest to go to sleep but he didn't want to miss anything so he would turn himself back around and watch more. After fireworks we walked back to Randy's parents house and Rhett fell fast asleep in the stroller.

His father's son = worried mom!!!

Yes, that is blood. And yes, he is smiling.

Randy and I were cleaning up dinner the other night and Rhett was playing with his toys. Our friend Shandie noticed Rhett was bleeding. We pick him up and his mouth is full of blood and it is all over his face. He evidently hit it while he was playing but didn't skip a beat. He didn't cry at all. His mouth proceeded to bleed for the next half hour or so. We even thought his tooth might be loose but it turned out it wasn't. Thank goodness!

I am afraid he is like his dad, which worries me! Randy will do pretty much anything, he has an extremely high pain tolerance and even when he is in pain nothing can stop him. If Rhett follows suit his childhood is going to be quite an experience.

What's this?

It only took a second to figure it out it was yummy!

I love watching him explore and try new things even if it makes a big ol' mess! Nothing a bath won't fix.

Bad Mom Moment #1

Yesterday I was rushing to leave the house and as usual, had tons of stuff in my hands, Rhett, the diaper bag, mail, keys, phone . . . etc. I opened the backdoor of the car and dropped my stuff over into the passenger seat and proceeded to buckle Rhett into his car seat. I then shut the door and walked around to the driver side door. I tried to open the door . . . it was locked. I walked back around to the back door where I had put Rhett in the car . . . also locked! RHETT IS LOCKED IN THE CAR! How did this happen? I then remember hearing the doors lock as I accidentally hit the button on the clicker, with all the stuff in my hands but it didn't register at the time. Luckily it was morning, not very warm, and the car was in the garage. Nonetheless, my baby is locked in the car, crying and I don't have a spare key!! I called Randy and told him the situation and that he had to come home from work right NOW! (luckily he works close). About 15 minutes later, my brother in law Nick, who works with Randy shows up with a key to the car. He was on his way to Burbank so he came instead of Randy. I, now tearing up, got Rhett out of the car, with tears streaming down his face, he reached for his uncle Nick. He didn't even want me. :( Not that I blame him, I am the one that locked him in the car but it did make me a little sad. Luckily a few minutes later, all was forgotten. So, there you have it, my first official bad mom moment. Unfortunately, I am sure there will be a few more.

Looking for a Photographer

I am looking for a local photographer that can take some family pictures for us this summer. I want someone who is reasonably priced and who I can order prints from with out them costing me an arm and a leg, or that I can just get a CD from and order whatever prints I want. However, I do want a professional looking picture so I know it will cost some moola. Is all of that too much to ask? Anyway, if you know of someone in the area, please let me know.

Thanks!
