Soccer 2013

Stingers AYSO Soccer Fall 2013

 

Rhett is an excellent soccer player!  He has always been a fast runner which is a good skill for soccer.  His great coordination helps too!  It was so fun to watch him.  We had a good team and had a good season.  

Randy's Donuts

Have always seen this place in movies and thought it would be fun to visit.  We were headed home from Orange County and decided to stop.  The pictures are terrible but it was fun.  Randy told Rhett it was his donuts shop and he still thinks it is true! 

Sycamore Canyon Bike Ride

 We took two trips down the canyon this summer.  The first time Randy rode with Bryan and Shandie and I drove the kids down to meet them.  We barbecued, had smores and played on the beach.  It looked fun and so I wanted to give it try.  So our family took a trip down together.  I was a little nervous about taking Rhett because it is pretty steep but Randy said he was more worried about me than Rhett!  Haha!  He was mostly joking but kind of not.  The truth is Rhett is a really good bike rider and I am average so he was probably right.  It was a fun ride! Dee picked us up at the bottom and we grabbed dinner together. 

Ocean Fishing

Jerry our Brother-in-law invited us to go ocean fishing on his boat for some white sea bass.  We got up super early and headed to meet him at the pier .  

 See that ladder on the side of the pier?  We climbed down that ladder with all of our stuff and got on boat because we left before the pier operator was there to lower the stairs.   The most important thing to get down that ladder was my 44oz Big Gulp of Mountain Dew.  No Joke!!  It was actually the hardest thing to get down the ladder but it was absolutely necessary to combat the sleepiness from my sea sickness pills  It was quite an adventure! Mission Accomplished though it worked and I didn't get sick! :)

It was Randy's first time fishing and he was hooked since he caught the biggest fish!!  We fished for squid which we used for our bait.  We caught 3 white sea bass each time we caught one it was bigger than the last.  It was pretty exciting!  We ended the night with a fresh fish dinner.  It was a wonderful day with a delicious dinner!! 

First Day of School 2013

Rhett's first day of school in Jr. Kindergarten.  Doesn't he look so cute and BIG?!?!?  We were nervous and excited for him to start at a new school.  We were grateful to get him into the school we wanted and are excited about his teacher.  Looking forward to a great year and a new adventure into this whole "real" school world!

The Beach

Wednesday is the best day of the week during the summer because Wednesday is Beach day!!!!  It is an all day of play for Rhett and relaxation for me!  Can't beat sitting on the beach and watching the kids play, create, build and jump waves. 

Rhett is 5!

Our boy turned 5!!!  Hard to believe.  We had a big party at Scooter's Jungle to celebrate. 

Rhett got a motorcycle for his birthday.  He has been wanting one for a long time.  However, in traditional 5 year old canter when he saw it he said, "that's all, just one present for my birthday".   I am not going to lie, I felt kinda bad.  I thought he would be thrilled but I should have realized for a 5 year old, a million dollar store presents would have been more exciting. 
We love our growing boy so much!  We are so happy we get to be his parents.  He is funny, talented, athletic, a tease, smart, observant and competitive.  His favorite color is orange, his favorite foods are brownies, raspberries and McDonald's Chicken Nugget Happy Meals (much to his mom's chagrin).  He is constantly moving, running, playing a sport, jumping on the trampoline, swimming and playing with his dogs he loves so much!

Beach Camping & Baseball

We got tickets to the Angels game so we decided to make a weekend of it and camp at Bolsa Chica.  It was fantastic!! We rode bikes, practiced baseball, relaxed and enjoyed the Angels game!  Good Family Fun!!
