Dressing up the Dogs

 Rhett plays with the dogs a lot lately.  He brings them into his room and reads to them.  He plays fetch with them and now dressed them up in costume with him. 

Wake Surfing with Dad

We were lucky enough to get invited out for an afternoon on the lake by our friends, the Reeves.  We had missed the annual boat trip over the summer and so we were so happy to be out on the lake.  Rhett loved wake surfing with Dad!!  He had his floaties on which made him feel so much safer and he wasn't scared at all!

September 11th Memorial

Pepperdine University does an amazing September 11th Memorial.  They have a display of flags all over their front lawn.  There is flag for each person that died that day.  It was an amazing site!  

Lines of Communication

When I pick up Rhett from school I am interested to know how his day was, what they did and hear any exciting or not so great things that happened that day.  In the past I have asked him, "what did you do at school today?"  The answer is always, "I don't remember."  So, I have started asking him "what was your favorite part of school today?"  The answer last Friday, "Mom, everyday I go to school I like everything we do there.  I like all of it, every day.  So you don't need to ask me that same question every time."  Awesome!
I am trying to build a relationship where he can tell me things and we talk about stuff, the good, the bad and the ugly.  We are going no where fast!

School 2012-2013

First day of School at Mrs. Andrea's.  We love her and are so grateful to be back for the second year! Looking forward to a fun time this year with so many new friends.

Family Visitors and Disneyland

We were only home for a couple of weeks and all of my family came to visit.  My niece, Emery wanted to go to Disneyland for her birthday back in July but couldn't because of her mom's broken knee cap. So, they rescheduled for as soon as possible and we all (except Randy and step dad Bill, who had to work) went before Labor Day weekend.
Erin and Jeff and their family came from Arizona.  Noni, my mom, came from Arizona and Kylie and Cody and baby Ezra came from Utah.  It was fun to have everyone here. We went to Disneyland, the park, swimming and Universal City Walk.  We had a good time together!
