Sunday Best

The cutest ever!!

Rhett loves his cousin Jake! Jake is 8 years old, SUPER into sports, so athletic, adorable and so sweet. He loves the little kids but has especially taken to Rhett since Jake has all little sisters. Rhett loves Jake and all the special attention he gets from him. Both boys were in Jake's room and Rhett found Jake's tie, Jake told Rhett he could take it home and where it to church on Sunday. Rhett was pretty excited! He loved that he got to wear the tie and look like his Daddy.

Lake Pyramid

We had a great day boating with the Moodys and the Whites (minus Jim) at Lake Pyramid! Our day started at 5am (since I am the best wife in the world and went to be the 3rd adult) so Nick and Randy could get good water and some wakeboard time in before the kids came. It turned out easier then I thought, I laid in the boat with Rhett asleep on my chest for most of the early morning hours, while Jake and Mike ran the flag for me. Everyone else got there around 11:30am. We had lunch and the kids played with their sand toys on the shore. Then it was back out on the boat for the remainder of the day. The kids all wakeboarded, skiied and surfed. Randy and I waked surfed . . . together . . on the same board. It was HILARIOUS! I was too nervous to try wake surfing by myself, the wake is just so big and you are so incredibly close to the back of the boat, so Randy did it with me. He did all the work and I just did what I was told. It was still nerve racking for a bit but it was really fun! If only we had remembered the video camera. We got Heather up on a wakeboard and then she tried wake surfing too! That was also quite entertaining. The kids were all so good and we had so much fun together! It was a great way to say goodbye to summer.

Santa Barbara Zoo

We went to the zoo with Nana (Randy's mom), Leslie (Randy's sister) and three of Rhett's cousins his age. It was crazy with four kids three and under (yes, even with 3 adults) but we had a good time. Rhett loved all the animals! Rhett was intrigued by the bugs and snake exhibit but did tell me a few times "I scared!". He loved being with the other kids! They ran from exhibit to exhibit, they rode down the hill a million times and had a great time on the train. Unfortunately I don't like the train so much since that is where I lost my wallet! And no one turned it in! I didn't really expect them too but was hopeful since the zoo is full of moms and little kids but nope! I had to cancel my cards and I am off to get a new driver license this week. Boo!

Dodger Game

Randy took Rhett to his first Dodger game on his birthday. They had a blast! Randy caught a ball thrown into the stands by Ethier. They were both pretty excited about that! Rhett played with his cousins espcially Jake who was giving Rhett a play by play. When the crowd would cheer and Jake would forget to tell Rhett what was happening Rhett would ask Jake, "Jake what happened?". They had a great time. About the 7th inning, Rhett asked to go home so they packed it up and he fell fast asleep on the drive home.

Rhett turns 2!

Rhett is 2 years old! He is always running, jumping, talking, moving etc. He is a very good little boy, a great listener and so sweet!

Some things to remember about him at this age:
He loves to watch cartoons in mom and dad's bed. He loves to take as many toys, blankets etc. to bed with him and in the morning wants to take it ALL with him into mom and dad's bed to watch cartoons with him. He props himself up with his pillows at the head of the bed and watches his favorite shows: "beast" Maggie and the Ferocious Beat, "Muno" Yo Gabba Gabba, "bill", Little Bill, "pets" Wonder Pets and "jerry" Tom and Jerry.
He says, "watch this" and then jumps off of anything.
When he says thank you to someone he always uses their name, "Thank you Mama", "Thank you Daddy" etc. It melts my heart everytime.
He feeds the dogs almost all by himself. We just have to measure out the food for him. He puts the food in the bowls, tells them "puppies eat!" and then walks into the garage, puts the cups that we measure the food in away and closes the food container.
He loves to give the doggies a bone each day. He tells them to sit and shake and then they get their bone. That trick needs a little help from mom and dad for the dogs to listen. :)
He loves to read books.
He loves to play cars and make them crash.
He is still working on the I, Me, You, concept and uses third person quite a bit.
When I ask him, "Rhett who loves you?" He says, "Rhett loves you"
When mom asks him "are you mom's good boy?" he says, "no daddy's boy". When Dad asks him, "are you dad's good boy?" he says, "no momma's boy". he smirks the whole time! tease!

Rhett we love you! You are a wonderful little boy! We have so much fun being your parents!

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Randy's parents, Dee and Alana Bryce celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this month! To celebrate we spent 4 days at Zions Ponderosa, a resort outside of Zions National Park in Southern Utah. We had a great time hiking, swimming, rock climbing, zip lining, paint balling, riding horses and ATVs, playing games, talking, eating and hanging out. Most of us hiked Emerald Pools while some crazy people, including Randy hiked Angels Landing. We had a great time!
