We now have grass in our backyard. After 2 1/2 years of dirt and dust we layed sod on Saturday morning. It is pretty much the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Saturday afternoon I excitedly vaccummed and mopped my house and 2 days later, it is still clean! Oh the happiness! We are excited to start really enjoying our backyard.

Sunday Family Time
We went to church this morning. After church was lunch time and nap time for Rhett. During naptime Randy and I sat on the lawn chairs in our backyard, enjoyed the sun, reading and napping. So relaxing. After naptime was over we went on a bike ride to a new park. We had a great time! We came home, made breakfast for dinner, one of our favorites and played and read books until bed time. Such a wonderful day together as a family.

Go Lakers!
Randy called me at 2:40pm this afternoon and told me he could score some good seats at a great price to this evening's Laker game. Randy has been to a few games in the last couple of years and I have always wanted to go so I decided to take him up on his last minute offer, even though it wasn't the slightest bit convenient. Rhett was napping, I was sitting at my computer working, I needed to finish up my work for the day, shower and get ready (yes, it was 2:40pm and I hadn't showered yet), find a sitter for Rhett, get him to the sitter (generally a family member 30 minutes away) and get back to meet Randy to leave at 5:15pm. It worked, we got it all done, left on time, and had a great time! It was a close game and we even saw an audience member shoot a basket from half court to win $265,000!

Easter
Easter moring I went into Rhett's room when he woke up and told him the Easter bunny had come and brought him presents. ( I had prepped him the day before). I asked him if he wanted to see his presents, he emphatically nodded yes! His answer to everything currently is "no", so you know he really wants something when he says "yes". He enjoyed looking through his basket and we had to make an early morning trip outside to play with his new bubble machine.

The rest of the morning we lounged about eating breakfast, reading his new books and watching our church's General Conference on TV. Love General Conference (and love church at home in my jammies!)
We enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt and dinner with the Bryce's this year. At the beginning of the hunt Rhett spotted the bikes in the garage and after that didn't care about the hunt, just wanted to go on a bike ride.
Later that evening we stopped by my family's house for dessert.

Utah
We went to Utah to see my sister Kylie and her husband Cody and their new house. While we were there we also got to spend some time with our nephew Cory, his wife Rachel and meet their first baby, Jocelyn. It was short, busy, and a great time.
Here is a run down of the trip.
Saturday - First things first, we had Cafe Rio for lunch. Afterwards Kylie, Rachel and I took the kiddos and did a little shopping for Kylie's house. Cory and Randy went shooting and hiking. Later that evening we all joined back up and went out to dinner together.
Sunday - we slept, relaxed and Erin and Jeff and kids arrived. We played some Wii, took the kids to the park, and made dinner together.
Monday - Kylie and Cody had to work. :( Randy and Jeff went golfing, Erin and I took the kids to the Gateway Discovery Museum. The kids had a great time! We all met up that evening for dinner. After dinner the boys took the kids for some ice cream and back home to hang out while us sisters had some quality time together hitting a few shops and catching a movie.
Tuesday - The boys took the kids to the aquarium (not as great as the discovery musuem) and we hit one last stop for some decor for Kylie's house. And before heading home we hit Cafe Rio again for lunch. We then made the long journey home.
Erin and Kylie spent the afternoon decorating with our fun finds.
Rhett was a good traveler. This trip he didn't want to sleep in his pack-n-play, instead preferring sleeping in bed with us. Not a fan but at least he slept. Randy and I didn't so much. We timed our drive as best as we could around his sleeping so he was only awake about 4 hours each way (not bad for a 12 hour drive). If I could have sat in the back seat with him and read and played with him it would have been perfect but after 20 minutes I was quite nausiated so paci and cartoons saved the day. He said "mom" about 1 million times and we sang LOTS of songs, but overall, he did great!
Thanks to Kylie and Cody for letting all of us crash their house, especially after only living there a few weeks themselves.

Rhett, who he is right now . . .
Rhett is talking so much more! It took him a while to get the hang of things but he is learning so much and communicating with us non stop. He asks about a hundred times a day, "where dad?" I tell him "work". Then he asks me again "where dad?" and answers his own question and says, "work". He is hilarious as always. He is getting so coordinated with his running, throwing, jumping etc. He mimics EVERYTHING! He especially loves to mimic anyone coughing or sneezing. He thinks it is so funny! He loves to be scared (he laughs hysterically) and loves to scare us. He loves to drive with ALL of the windows rolled down in the car. He doesn't like the stroller and wants to walk everywhere. He points out every airplane, train and truck he sees or hears. Rhett's favorite person is his dad. Dad is the first person he asks for when he wakes up, he gets so excited when he hears Dad's truck pull up after work, he loves to ride in Dad's truck with the puppies in the back and he loves to help him do everything! The only "meat" he will eat is chicken nuggets (this is so karma b/c I HATE fast food!) He is not a fan of chocolate but will down a strawberry shake instantly. (that's my boy!)
Some of the things he likes to do are: blow bubbles, push his lawnmower, play with the dogs, ride his bike or in his car, throw balls and play with cars, read books, watch cartoons (which he repeatedly asks for all day long), and jumps off of things (one of my personal favorites)luckily you can catch a quick warning when he puts his arms up.
That's my boy! He is getting so big!
