Fuzzy Jar = Big Boy Bike

We started a reward system where every time Rhett does something positive he gets a fuzzy in his jar. When the jar is full he gets a treat! He decided that he wanted to earn a big boy bike. So, he finally got to the top of the jar and was so excited he shouted, "I did it!"
Today we went to Toys R Us and Rhett picked out his new bike! He surprised us by picking out an orange Harly Davidson bike!

He is loving his new bike and doing great!!

Pink Painted Toes

I was painting my toe nails yesterday morning and Rhett asked me to paint his too. I told him only girls painted their toe nails but he really wanted them painted so I did it for him. When Randy got home Rhett wanted him to paint his toes too. So he did! Painted toe nails are nothing new to Randy he always has painted toes when he has a cast, which he has had a time or two. So we all have pink painted toe nails!

Blessings

So, if you are counting you will notice that we have had 2 accidents in 2 weeks. Bad Karma maybe. The first was the boat accident. We were all in the boat 6 adults and 9 kids. My BIL, Jim was wake surfing for the first time. We were going 10.6 mph (too be exact). We hit a rock about a foot under the surface and the boat came to an immediate halt! We quickly got all the kids off the boat and on shore and some fellow boaters helped us get the boat off the rock and we were able to limp it back to the dock.
We were so blessed that we were only going 10.6mph, that Jim was surfing and not one of the kids, that there was no little kids in the front of the boat that would have fallen out and that we were able to get everyone safe and sound back to shore.

The second accident was the car accident Rhett and I had been in. We were so blessed that I happened to be driving Randy's truck. The accident would have been so much more harmful and scary in my jeep. I watched the lady coming toward me and knew she was going to hit me and there was nothing I could do. I knew though, because I was sitting high up in the truck that it wasn't going to hit me or Rhett and we would be fine. Those few seconds would have been so much more terrifying if I had been in my jeep and new she was headed right for me!

I am very grateful for the blessings of safety for my little family.

Car Accident

Rhett and I were in a car accident today. Luckily we played a very small role, we are completely unharmed and our car is barely damaged. I was coming up to a signal in the left hand turn lane. The lady in front of me was in the intersection making the left when a car came straight through the intersection and hit her. He verred off in one direction hitting a fire hydrant and she spun around and hit the driver side of our car. It was Randy's raised truck so she barely hit the bottom of the door and wheel well. I don't usually drive Randy's truck but took it today to get it smogged and was headed to the DMV for tags. If I had been in my own car she would have hit me smack in the driver side door and caused much more damage and possible injury. We were so blessed that things happened the way they did and we were all safe!

Our Truck and the Mercedes that hit me.

The truck that started the whole thing.

Lake Don Pedro 2011

We spent a week at Lake Don Pedro with two of Randy's sisters and their families. It is a great lake! The weather was great, the water was smooth and we had a great time! Unfortunately on day 2 we had bit of a boat accident causing the boat to be out of commission the rest of the trip. It was a bummer but we still had a great trip. Don Pedro has a swimming lagoon (Rhett called it the swimming goon), which is basically a small lake. We set up an easy up and hung out all day! We swam, ate and the kids played in the sand FOREVER! We also took a day detour and headed to Raging Waters for a little excitement. It was a blast! We thoroughly enjoyed our family time together, camping in our trailer, the sun, campfires, making smores and hanging out.

Potty Training

We started Potty Training this week. Rhett will be three in August and will be starting preschool in the fall so it was about time we started potty training. I have been putting it off for a few reasons: 1. I think it is easier to change a diaper then rush to find a bathroom in public. 2. I wanted to wait until he was ready. 3. We had a trip to Utah planned for the first part of June and I did NOT want to do a 12 hour drive with Rhett being newly potty trained.
We are home this week and so we began the chore of potty training. It took a bit of convincing to get him to try underwear, but he did it and hasn't turned back. He wanted a little potty so we ran out and got one and some treats for when he goes potty in the toilet. He really doesn't care about the treats. Today is the beginning of day 4 and Rhett woke up dry (I am sure this will not happen all the time) and went poop in the potty!!
I am sure I had more anxiety over this process then Rhett so I am so happy it is going so well.

Wake Surfing

Rhett wake surfing with Randy for the first time.
