Fathers & Sons 2010

Randy took Rhett on his first Fathers and Sons campout. He went with his brother Gary, and his son Blake. They had a great time! The little boys played and played. They enjoyed the campfire and yummy smores. Randy and Rhett slept in the back of Randy's truck.
Mom got a whole night alone! At Randy's suggestion I went and got a massage, grabbed some frozen yogurt and a movie which I watched in bed enjoying my yummy dessert. I got to sleep in and run some errands in the morning alone before they got home. I think Fathers and Sons is going to be one of my favorite occasions of the year.

The World of Little Boys

We have entered the world of little boys. Match box cars that he takes everyone with him, even to bed. Car noises. Ramming his cars into things like the walls, eachother, and anything or anyone else that is in the path. Asking WHY constantly! I know all kids go through this but I have noticed it to be more intense in my nephews and now Rhett then my nieces. Bugs. He has started noticing bugs and is very interested in them. Trash Trucks. We go out front to wave all six times they come by Tuesday mornings. And the frustration and fits of the terrible twos are beginning.

Mother's Day 2010

The annual Mother's Day picture. Not always going to be perfect but hopefully a fun tradition to look back on. Today was spent at my niece's baby blessing. What a perfect way to enjoy Mother's day.
Rhett gave me a cute little card with his hand traced on it by his dad and a hug and a kiss. It was so sweet!

Happy Mother's Day!

Grass! Grass! Grass!

We now have grass in our backyard. After 2 1/2 years of dirt and dust we layed sod on Saturday morning. It is pretty much the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Saturday afternoon I excitedly vaccummed and mopped my house and 2 days later, it is still clean! Oh the happiness! We are excited to start really enjoying our backyard.

Sunday Family Time

We went to church this morning. After church was lunch time and nap time for Rhett. During naptime Randy and I sat on the lawn chairs in our backyard, enjoyed the sun, reading and napping. So relaxing. After naptime was over we went on a bike ride to a new park. We had a great time! We came home, made breakfast for dinner, one of our favorites and played and read books until bed time. Such a wonderful day together as a family.

Go Lakers!

Randy called me at 2:40pm this afternoon and told me he could score some good seats at a great price to this evening's Laker game. Randy has been to a few games in the last couple of years and I have always wanted to go so I decided to take him up on his last minute offer, even though it wasn't the slightest bit convenient. Rhett was napping, I was sitting at my computer working, I needed to finish up my work for the day, shower and get ready (yes, it was 2:40pm and I hadn't showered yet), find a sitter for Rhett, get him to the sitter (generally a family member 30 minutes away) and get back to meet Randy to leave at 5:15pm. It worked, we got it all done, left on time, and had a great time! It was a close game and we even saw an audience member shoot a basket from half court to win $265,000!
