18 months

Rhett is now 18 months old!

Rhett is hilarious! Even he thinks so. He loves to tease (big surprise)! He understands everything and is a great listener. He still struggles with speech due to his tongue being tied but he is definitely improving since it was clipped. He LOVES books. We read A LOT! His most recent favorite thing to do is to sit in his crib with his books and read them by himself. He thinks he has out smarted us, his parents, because he can only have his pacifier and blanket in his crib so he gets to enjoy paci and blankie and read books. I love the 30 minutes of free time it gives me so I am okay with it. He loves to play outside, watch/help dad with any project, mimics EVERYTHING and loves his puppies. He wants to walk everywhere but watch out because he loves to run away from you and laugh as you run after him to catch him. He is strong, tough, not afraid of much and not much stops him. He is a darling little boy, so sweet and so much fun.

Big Bear

Randy went with some friends to Big Bear for the weekend. There was more fresh snow then Randy had ever seen anywhere, let alone the California Mountains. Randy attempted snowboarding ( 4 runs down the mountain) but it hurt too bad so he skipped out. Big Bear wouldn't give him his money back so he has a full day pass voucher. A lot of good that is going to do him! Anyone interested in buying it? Anyways, regardless of his lack of snowboarding he still had a great time with the guys.

This Week

Randy started a new job.
Randy spent most of his week away on business.
It rained ALOT!
Rhett and I stayed home ALOT!
We read ALOT of books!!!
We made cookies.
We had to get out so we went to the mall play place.
Turned out that was a bad idea.
Rhett ended up with pink eye!
We stayed home some more.
After coming home from his business trip Randy took off for a previously planned boys weekend.
He went to Big Bear.
There was TONS of snow!
He tried snowboarding for the first time since he "broke" his ankle.
It has been 3 years.
Randy made 4 runs down the mountain.
It hurt bad!
He called it quits for the day.
His favorite hobbie, perfect conditions, watching others and sitting it out.
My heart broke for him.
Rhett's pink eye is no longer contagious.
I am taking antibiotics with him.
I SOOO don't want pink eye.
This week wasn't horrible.
But could have been better.
Hoping next week is better.

Rainy Days and Warm Cookies

Growing up I remember making cookies with my mom on rainy days. The last few days it has been raining like crazy here so I decided Rhett and I needed to carry on the tradition. We made cookies together today after lunchtime. He really enjoyed it! He poured all the ingredients in and would pretend to keep pouring after I put the caps back on. He helped stir as well but preferred the ingredients instead.

29th Birthday

My 29th Birthday . . . I can't believe it, only one more year until 30! It was a great day! Randy didn't have to go into work until the afternoon so he and Rhett went and got me a bagel for breakfast. My mom treated Rhett and I to lunch and we did some fabric shopping. Lastly, Randy's mom watched Rhett that evening while Randy and I went on a date to dinner and a movie. It was such a nice day. Here's to another year!

Happy New Year 2010!

Although 2010 didn't start off all that great, (Rhett and I both came down with the flu New Year's Eve), I am hopeful for the new year. 2009 was a rough year for our family. We had a number of challenges and even our blessings seemed like challenges, stretching us to our limits forcing us to grow. Good but so hard to endure at times!! Although difficult we are grateful for the events of the year all the things we learned and the blessings we were given. That being said I am not sad to say goodbye to 2009 with all the surgeries, injuries, recoveries etc. Here's to 2010! A new year, with new possibilities and fun memories to be created!
Happy New Year to all our friends and family! We hope that 2010 is a wonderful year for all.
