Rhett 8 months

Rhett turned 8 months on April 5th! Where has the time gone!?!?!?! He is at such a fun age! He is crawling which allows him to enjoy playing on the floor with his toys so much more. He has 3 teeth. He eats almost anything we give him. Green beans are the "almost". He will eat them but gags them down, literally. He is definitely his Dad's kid. Randy hates ALL beans, especially refried beans and green beans. (who hates all beans, that is so weird!!!) Anyways, this post is about Rhett (like most of the other posts on this blog), he loves the puppies, and is starting to understand simple works and expressions, like puppies, and walk, and more. We are starting to sign "more" and "all finished". I think he likes "more", because I usually use it when he is eating snacks on his tray and he knows when I do the sign, he is going to get more snacks. He gets a BIG smile on his face and chuckles at me. He is a happy baby, with a great smile, he babbles at us and gives us wet slobbering kisses only parents could love. Happy 8 months Rhetty boy!

Family Day

Last Saturday we enjoyed a family day. We didn't do any chores but instead played together all day. It was a beautiful day so we took Rhett to the park. He loves the swings!! When we came home from the park we decided it was nice enough for the pool. The pool water was a little cool though so we warmed up the jacuzzi, and took Rhett for a swim. The water was a nice 90 degrees. I know, we are wimps! It was like bathwater. . . . the only way to do it! Rhett really enjoyed it . . . except when we dunked him underwater! That was the end of swimming for him for the day.

Crawling

Rhett is crawling! Poor kid would have been crawling a couple of weeks ago but we have all wood or tile floors so he would just slip around. Now he has mastered crawling and sitting him self back up from a crawling position. Yeah!! We couldn't be happier! There is much less screaming at our house now.

However, what he would rather do is walk! He has been walking around the house like this for almost a month and would walk around all day if I would let him. He knows exactly where he wants to go and leads you in that direction. He most often walks directly to the front door and once he gets there he looks right up at you with a big smile. He loves to walk back and forth on the side walk in front of our house and sit out in the front lawn. He is all boy and LOVES to be outside!

Bubble Bath Anyone?

Randy put this algae stuff in our pool the other day and this is what happened!

our newest Niece

Randy's Brother and his wife had their second baby, a girl, Halle Bryce. She was born March 7th and weighed 8lbs. 14oz. and was 21" long. She is the only newborn I have seen to be born with chubby cheeks! So cute! Congrats Gary & Joni!

Just too busy!

I hate that I am one of those people that lets weeks go by with out posting on their blog. I mean, Valentine's Day is my last post. That was weeks ago and who really cares about my Valentin's Day anyway. It is for journal purposes but still! I have just been too busy trying to keep all the balls in the air. I came out of the gates of this whole surgery thing going strong but it is the mid way point and I am feeling sluggish. Not to mention Rhett is teething again, which means little sleep for both Rhett and I. This is my pattern though. This is what I would always do in school. Start the semester off strong, get lazy in the middle and then pick my self up and finish off with a bang. Think I can manage the next 7 or so weeks and finish off with a bang!?!?! If you asked me that Friday I would have said a big fat H*@L NO!! But, after a little escape to a King's game with Randy yesterday, some dear friends watching Rhett and mowing the lawn for us and some yummy Pizzatopia for dinner (There pizza was better then I remember it being, maybe it was b/c I was STARVING, but nevertheless the dessert pizza never dissapoints!) I think I am back on track. Let's hope anyway! :)
(But let's not count the weeks again, that made me a little sad, saying 7 more weeks! We'll just take it one week at a time.)

Rolling About

This little contraption is a LIFESAVER!! It looks funny and Randy gets lots of stares and comments but it is SO worth it. Instead of crutches Randy uses this "roll about" to roll his gimp leg along. He walks normally with his good foot and this bad leg rolls along with him. He can now hold and carry things for himself, making him more independent, which makes both of our lives easier! I no longer have to get everything for everyone all the time, he can get himself a drink, a snack etc. He even took the trash cans in for me the other day. So nice! I am getting so spoiled! Ha!ha!

Yes, Randy's cast is bright pink. . . his favorite color! (I am not kidding!)
