Thanksgiving in Arizona

Arizona is my favorite place to spend Thanksgiving.  Great weather, great people and fond childhood memories. We spent most of our Thanksgivings growing up going there to visit family.   We had a wonderful visit and a most delicious Thanksgiving feast!
We arrived late Tuesday night, which was actually early Wednesday morning.  We got to hang out on Wednesday and then had big family pictures that afternoon and pizza dinner together as a family.  Thursday we all worked out in the morning, Randy and Jeff going to the gym and me meeting my goal of running the 4 miles round trip from my sister's house to the Gilbert Temple.  After the pre-burning of calories, we had a seriously, delicious turkey and sides.  My parents brine there turkeys every year and seriously, they can not be beat!!  Friday, was more playing, hanging out, Christmas movie watching, sewing, running, biking, eating  and a sleep over at Noni and Papa's for the kids.  Saturday we took the kids to a tramp-o-line place and a huge candy store that has all candy, every kind,  A LOT of it!  Randy's dream come true!

Sunday was the LONG drive home with every other person that traveled for Thanksgiving!  We didn't plan that very well but we decided to make the most of it and met my Dad for lunch and walked the Cabazon outlets to wait out the traffic.  It worked, we flew home, and Rhett slept the whole way after that!
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We have had a trying year this year and although it has been difficult we felt more blessed then normal this Thanksgiving.  Perhaps because we are more aware of those blessings we do have and the every day mercies we receive to get us through our trials.  We are so very grateful for our little family, our extended families and friends and the wonderful support they give us and the gospel of Jesus Christ, words can't express our gratitude! 

Hurt Finger

Rhett got his finger stuck in this teeter totter thing at the park.  It was squished between two things and we had to yank it out.  Luckily this other mom that I didn't even know got to him first (as I sprinted across the park) and so she let me hold him and talk to him while she yanked his finger out.  I was so grateful for her!  It looked pretty bad but luckily healed really quickly with no issues.

Halloween Festivities 2012

Rhett changed his mind many times this year on what he was going to be for Halloween.  He finally decided and made a great NINJA!!

We went to the pumpkin patch for school, carved pumpkins at home, went to the ward Trunk-or-Treat, Costume Parade at school and a fun Trick-or-Treat party with our friends.  It was a fun Halloween!!
