We made an additional beach trip this week so Dad could join us. Gary ( Randy's brother) and his family came with us. We enjoyed the afternoon at the beach and then had dinner at Padaro Grill, a yummy place right on the beach.
The way the tide washed the sand in we were able to dig this cool tunnel for the kids. By "we" I mean Joni and I started it but Randy and Gary did most of the work! :)

Beach Days
Every Wednesday in the summer is Beach Day at Carpinteria Beach. We all meet and hang out and the kids play all day! Rhett and Halle were best buds at the beach this year! They played together constantly and if they weren't together they were asking where the other one was. They ran from the waves, dug, played games and laid on the beach and talked. It was my favorite thing to watch them interact and become friends. We LOVE Beach day!!!
Naci 2011
Since Lake Trip #1 of this summer didn't go so well as far as boating was concerned we tried for round 2. We went to Lake Nacimento for a few days with Randy's sister's family. We had a great time!
Jake catching some air! Sadie learned how to wakeboard this trip. She did great!
Me wake boarding
Napping on the boat.
My battle wound from tubing with Randy. His knee and my thigh.

Ventura County Fair
Rhett enjoyed riding rides at the fair with cousins Blake and Halle.
The ride was having some techinical difficulties (makes a parent feel good) Rhett was very bored waiting.
Thrilled it started going up!
He loved the drop even more!!
Rhett and Halle were our dare devils of the evening but that is no surprise!

Rhett is 3
Rhett is 3!!! He is such a big boy!!! Rhett has grown up so much this summer. He is potty trained, sleeps in a bed and rides a big boy bike super fast! He is headed to preschool this fall and is so excited!
Some things to remember about Rhett at this age:
- He talks constantly! (even though most people don't believe me because he is quiet around other people).
- He loves anything with wheels (cars, trucks, trailers, trains, bikes, scooters, skateboards . . you name it).
- He is very athletic and coordinated.
- Loves to go fast and jump off of anything.
- Favorite Color: Green and Blue
- Favorite Food: Raspberries and Donuts
- Matches his clothes to his Dad's every day.
- Word he says all the time: actually
-VERY independent! He started the "i do it" a LONG time ago and has grown increasingly independent. If you help him with something for example opening a door, he will close it and reopen it by himself because he didn't want your help!
-He gets himself completely dressed usually before he even leaves his room in the morning.
-Always shuts his bedroom door behind him. No other door, but always his bedroom door.
-Has a good imagination and loves to pretend.
- He is very particlar about certain things.
-Loves to help with everything. He mows the lawn with Randy, works along side him on his workbench in the garage and cooks, bakes, cleans and does laundry with me.
He is a wonderful little boy! We love him to pieces and are so grateful to have him!
Rhett's Birthday
Rhett had a full day on his birthday. He started the morning with a trip to the donut shop. Then some friends came over to swim and play on the waterslide. That evening we had a family party at the park.
Playing on the water slide.
The park
We had a big blow up ball the kids sat inside and rolled around. It was pretty fun!
